Spend a Day (or two) in Corrales, New Mexico

Kokopelli sculpture in stone and steelCorrales Art Studio Tour will take place this weekend, May 2-3, 2015. Adobe Dragon Design Studio is #9 on the tour.

This is a wonderful opportunity to spend a relaxed weekend in the charming, semi-rural village of Corrales. Known as the horse capital of New Mexico, it does seem like there’s an equine or two in almost every other yard. Or a llama. Or sheep. Or cattle.  Corrales really is an animal friendly place.

The Corrales Art Studio Tour has become an annual event with our artists opening their studios and sometimes homes to visitors. With just about every media represented, there’s sure to be something to appeal to every taste.

This marks Adobe Dragon’s third year on the tour. As usual, we’ll be offering a wide selection art for the home and garden, with something for all price ranges. And with Mother’s Day just a weekend away, you can get Mom something special and handmade in New Mexico. Our metal and glass flowers are especially popular with mom’s everywhere, whether they have a green or black thumb.

New this year are my dancer sculptures, available on 36″ stakes and on small stands for patios. As alwayEver-blooming flower, adobe dragon designs, metal arts, I will have a wide variety of cheerful windchimes: greyhounds, cats, cat angels, fairies, dragons, angels, owls, rabbits and roadrunners and many others. These chimes are priced well under $50 and will be a terrific gift for mothers.

Also in the offering are new petroglyph sculptures, ranging in size from about 18″ tall to six-feet. Some are equipped with citronella candles, others with solar-powered lights for drama at night.

Bunny Ohana Metal SculptureAnd, as usual, most of the art will be displayed in our beautiful garden and I’ll be happy to discuss native and drought-adapted plants with the gardening inclined.

Here’s the LINK to the tour page. Again, we are studio #9 (listed as Justin Kirby.)

See you at the tour!
