Coming Soon, Corrales Art Studio Tour, 2015

Adobe Dragon Design Studio GardenAs I write this, the weekend of May 2-3, 2015, is still more than a month away. But, factor in some procrastination, and the enormous task of getting the yard and studio ready, and…Whew…Corrales Art Studio Tour (2015) is just a few days away.

This year, in addition to the usual favorites–Ever-blooming flowers, Little Shop of Horrors-inspired Audrey’s, and flying pigs–we plan to have some new additions to our artistic repertoire.  Inspired by the success of my little polymer clay Christmas angels, I’ll be making a small assortment of fairies. Like the angels, their wings will be made from bits of metal screen, leftover from petals of ever-blooming flowers. Also on hand will be more of my one-of-a-kind windchimes. Each is hand-cut with a plasma torch, the chain handmade from old bailing wire, with durable beads and other accents. For greyhound and horse lovers, I hope (fingers crossed) to get some wall art finished as well.

Justin has terrific new petroglyph sculptures in the works, some in smaller sizes and more affordable. Also in the works is a large-scale version of his man-eating Audrey sculpture.

In the meantime, I need to take a machete, or maybe a blowtorch, to the overgrown mess that is our garden. Whenever I abandon all hope that it will ever get done, I take a look at a photo of the garden from the last year. Yeah. There’s hope.

Do plan to visit us on May 2-3. We will be studio #9 on the tour. The tour is FREE!
